Interrogation of Hamas/Maariv operatives
Defense Minister Yoav Galant and Justice Minister Yariv Levin announced that the Ministerial Committee on Legislation on Sunday authorized the State of Israel to declare individual terrorist operatives, instead of only terrorist organizations in the past.
In a joint statement today, the two ministers said that the Ministerial Committee on Legislation had approved the expansion of the Anti-Terrorism Law. According to the expansion, the defense minister will be able to declare certain people as terrorist operatives, whereas in the past he could only declare terrorist organizations.

The main purpose of the amendment is to harm the financing methods of terrorist operatives in the various organizations, and Hamas in particular, which are mostly based on money exchanges of terrorist operatives throughout the Middle East.
"The amendment will strengthen the administrative measures that can be employed against terrorist organizations and terrorist operatives, and will enable more effective thwarting of recruitment, financing and transfer of funds for terrorist purposes," the ministers said in their statement, "The imposition of financial sanctions on terrorist organizations and terrorist operatives has proven effective and effective, as part of the struggle of the Economic Counterterrorism Headquarters in the Ministry of Defense."
