The IDF, the Israeli military, and Shin Bet, Israel's domestic intelligence service, gave some details about the soldier's release. It is said to have taken place on the night of Sunday to Monday "during a ground operation", two days after the first incursion of the Israeli armed forces into Palestinian territory.
The IDF and Shin Bet said late Monday afternoon that Ori Megidish had already been reunited with his family and loved ones. On social media, several videos show several dozen people celebrating the young woman's return to the southern Israeli city of Kiryat Gat.
