Hamas militants and Israeli soldiers clashed overnight in various parts of the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian group and the Israeli army. The militia says there have been clashes in the northwest and south of the Strip, as tanks and other armored vehicles advanced toward Gaza City. For its part, the Israeli military has reported "several battles with terror squads that fired anti-tank missiles or machine guns." A few hours earlier, Israeli soldiers who had entered the Gaza Strip freed soldier Uri Magidish, who was kidnapped on October 7 by Hamas, according to the army. On Monday, the offensive entered a new phase and the Israeli army's ground forces, with tanks and infantry, reached the outskirts of Gaza City, the largest city in the Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assured that there will be no ceasefire, and that he will "fight to the end" to win the war, regardless of which countries support him.

Last Friday, after two weeks announcing an invasion to "destroy Hamas" that could last months or even years, Israeli troops and armored vehicles entered Gaza amid bombardments with unprecedented intensity and frequency that killed hundreds of Palestinians. Hours later, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the move marked a "new phase of the war" and troops would remain in Gaza "until further notice."

The Israeli military claims to have attacked 300 Hamas targets in Gaza in the past 24 hours
The Israeli military reported on Tuesday that over the past 24 hours it had attacked 300 Hamas targets in Gaza, including anti-tank missile and other projectile launch posts, tunnels and Palestinian militia "military compounds". In one of the attacks, it has killed a person responsible for the incursions of October 7, the person in charge of preparing drones and deploying militiamen in paragliding.
In its chain of messages, the Israel Defense Forces note that during their advance through the Strip they have clashed at several points with Hamas "terrorists", who have fired anti-tank missiles and machine-gun fire at the soldiers.
