Highlights: One of the industries that suffered a huge blow with the outbreak of the Iron Sword War is agriculture. Crops that were not harvested and collected at the time were left orphaned in the fields. In order to save the goods that were picked late - a special market called "From Adam to Man" was established that sells the produce cheaply and contributes the proceeds. Many civilian resources are currently being directed to strengthening shaky civilian resilience. One of the industries that suffered a huge blow with the outbreak of the Iron Sword War is agriculture. Crops that were not harvested and collected at the time were left orphaned in the fields, hanging heavily on tree branches in orchards or withering in the scorching sun that continues to beat into early autumn.

The skilled Thai workers were returned to Thailand by their government because of the situation, and the farmers ran into double trouble. The rush to go to the farms in order to save the yields, even in wartime, on the other hand, they were left without manpower to do so. Community mobilization turned out, once again, to be a powerful relief force. Brothers in Arms formed Brothers in Arms, many calls flooded the social network - and volunteers showed up.

Leading chefs also issued a call for proposals to enlist the power of the restaurant industry (which is also in a deep and fundamental crisis) and established small but significant ventures to promote Israeli produce and the use of shady produce that is considered second-class produce – one that is not sold in supermarkets and supermarkets, but is certainly worthy and good.

One of the special initiatives that arose in this context is the "From Adam to Adam" market, established at the Rish Lakish olive press in Zippori – a market that sells shady produce and its proceeds are donated.

As part of the project, the olive press became a sorting ground for vegetables and fruits that come from farms and are considered second-class. Some of the goods are donated from there or sold at very cheap prices, and the proceeds from the sales are transferred, as stated, as a donation to residents who were evacuated from their homes. The heads of the project are the chubby Ayala Noy Meir and the owner, chef Yaniv Gur Arie, tonic woman and gatherer Naama Sternlicht and various agricultural associations.

For example, a cooking school war room that continues its activity in the logistics kitchen established during the first days of the war is obligated to buy 15 kilograms a day of each vegetable or fruit on behalf of the enterprise. Among them: corns, sweet potatoes, kohlrabi, bananas, apples, nectarines and more. The produce is a bit "crooked", or uneven, sometimes has a flaw here and there - but it is great for roasting, cooking and baking - and especially great for cooking as an act of support, reciprocity and guarantee.

Shady vegetables,

This produce is sold in large quantities at one shekel per kilogram. The situation is so difficult and urgent, and because of this, the mutual responsibility between the various business sectors such as agriculture and restaurants is so important. But the private and personal household of each of us is also invited to take part in the project. How? In the form of a small market open to all, which is taking place for the second week at the olive press on Friday. The market sells a variety of fruits and vegetables - also at cheaper prices than usual. Here you will find the most delicious bell peppers, excellent nectarines for jam, juicy grapefruit, small crispy lettuce or a bundle of modest green onions.

This writer was asked to pay only 10 shekels for all this goodness at the makeshift cash register. Needless to say, the nominal amount is a cost price, and of course you can donate in lieu of any amount higher than it. In addition to the market itself, a natural juice stand was set up. We drank fresh apple juice in it that you can add a portion of arak to and make it fun and energizing. In this stall, too, apples are second-class and the juice is a thousand thousand.

This Friday, the place will also sell fresh pita bread from the tabun, homemade shawarma, a variety of salads and delicacies - all from the shady produce. Prices per serving range from NIS 5 for a sweet bite, or NIS 10-15 for food dishes. Local wine from winemaker Yossi Yodfat's northern winery will also be poured.
All proceeds are a contribution.
