In the midst of the ongoing campaign in Gaza, and the ever-expanding ground incursion of IDF forces, Defense Minister Yoav Galant delivered a security review on Wednesday, referring to the attacks in the south and north and the threat from the Houthis in Yemen.

"War has a heavy price, IDF fighters fight with courage and determination. They are successful in their missions, we have harmed Hamas significantly."

On the fallen soldiers: "I share in the grief of the families who lost their loved ones. These are the sons of all of us. Anyone who has lost a friend on the battlefield
knows how difficult the feeling is, they know the desire to charge, fight, win and beat the enemy for those who have fallen."

On the fighting in Gaza, he said: "We are advancing according to plans, Hamas is suffering severe blows. More than ten thousand munitions were dropped on Gaza City, thousands of targets were destroyed and thousands of terrorists were eliminated."
On the Houthi threat from Yemen, he said: "We know the data, and we will know how to act accordingly and at the right time. The IDF is prepared to fight even distant targets."
The defense minister objected to Finance Minister Smotrich's proposal to stop the transfer of funds to the Palestinian Authority: "We have an interest in stability in Judea and Samaria, it is appropriate to uphold the cabinet's decision."

Smotrich responded to Galant's remarks: "I appreciate the defense minister and commend him for his work night and day for Israel's security. His position in favor of transferring the funds to the PA is a serious mistake. I do not intend to allow the State of Israel to fund our enemies in Judea and Samaria who support Hamas terrorism and fund the 7/10 terrorists who murdered and massacred us.
The Palestinian Authority is not the solution – it is part of the problem.
