On Wednesday night, as part of a joint operation by the Shin Bet, the IDF and the Border Police, Judea and Samaria SWAT fighters in the city of Jenin detained 'Ata Abu Ramila, 63, a senior operative in the Jenin sector, and his son, an operative in the Jenin.

In recent months, Abu Ramila promoted terrorist activity with funding of tens of thousands of shekels and assisted wanted persons and terrorist operatives. Most of his activity focused on the Jenin area and he played a significant role in escalating the security situation in the area.

For many months he acted as a central inciter throughout Judea and Samaria calling for harm to IDF soldiers and the State of Israel, while exploiting his public position on the ground.
