Maya Glogowski, 38, is the young woman whose body was found on the streets Tuesday after she was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, Ben Castro. The two dated for a very short time after meeting on a dating site and the police are investigating the background to the act.
The investigation so far shows that Castro apparently murdered her because he wanted to marry her and his fear that she would break up with him. Maya was a third-year medical student at Tel Aviv University, a well-known start-up and social activist in the cannabis field. She is described by people who knew her as being smiling, pleasant, patient and intelligent.

Her mother, Rachel, wrote on her Facebook page: "My heart is broken and there is no consolation. The life of my beloved little daughter was cut short by a wrongdoer. An entire world was destroyed in one damn second. A beautiful, bright girl, a medical student, who had her whole life ahead of her."

Maya's murder took place on Tuesday night inside the vehicle they were riding in. It is suspected that the two were in Ramat Gan, when Castro murdered her and drove to Rehovot, where he abandoned the car and the body. The vehicle with the body was found by a passerby who alerted the police, and she began searching. The suspect's father was the one who called the police and turned him in. He was arrested and remanded in custody until 14 November.
Maya's funeral will take place tonight at 19:30 p.m. at the Gordsky Cemetery in Rehovot.
