"In Gaza, there are now children, parents, elderly people who need our hug so much. This Friday I will be selling desserts in the Square of the Abductees in the plaza of the Israel Museum. All proceeds will, of course, be donated to the families of the abductees. You are welcome to contribute, taste and hug," she explained in a video posted on her Instagram page.

In the video, she held a sign that read: "Free hugs, hugs, reinforcement, we all need." She was also seen embracing Israeli customers, presenting her own series of desserts and attaching a broad breakdown of the activity: "Between 10:00 and 16:00 I will sell desserts at the Abductees Square (Tel Aviv Museum Plaza in Waze). All proceeds will be donated to the families of the abductees and the struggle to bring them home! Come and contribute, taste and hug! Of course, the desserts are strictly kosher."

In a conversation we had with her today, she explained: "The reality we are in is delusional, accompanied by pain throughout the body. Our days have also gotten longer despite winter time, and we can't sleep thinking about the soldiers and the abductees. During the long hours of sleep deprivation, we all want to conduct a 'war routine' and maintain sanity and optimism amidst all this painful madness. At the same time, there must be daily work to return the hostages."

Spitz, who takes a very active part in the struggle for the return of the abductees, also took the initiative last week in this regard, pasting pictures of the abductees on the milk cartons in her pastry shop on Bograshov Street in Tel Aviv, in order to raise awareness. "Pasting pictures of abductees on milk cartons in a bakery so that everywhere there will be their faces and I can't believe this is reality. Please G-d, make sure to return them to us healthy and to heaven soon! These milk bottles, even when they are finished, will be displayed outside the confectionery shop and I call on all pastry shops to do so," she wrote a few days ago.

Spitz told Israel Hayom: "It is important to show the families of the abductees that we are here with them, and this struggle is not simple and certainly requires funding. I thought about how I could help beyond explaining to the world on my Instagram, beyond pasting pictures of the abductees on milk cartons in bakeries, beyond volunteering with evacuees and donations to soldiers, and beyond daily prayers. I decided this Friday to sell desserts in the hostage square, all proceeds of which will be donated to finance the struggle to return the hostages. I wish they would come back fast and safe and sound. We are all looking forward to celebrating with them in a big way, God willing."
