The A8 in the direction of Munich is completely closed from the Holzkirchen junction. A truck is on fire, the emergency services are on their way.
First report, 14:07 p.m.: A truck caught fire on the A8 north of the Holzkirchen junction around 13.20 p.m. The motorway in the direction of Munich is currently completely closed on this section. "Rescue forces are making their way to the scene," a spokeswoman for the Holzkirchen motorway police said in an initial report.
Driver got out just in time
The cause of the fire is still unclear at this time, the official explains in her statement. The driver was able to steer the tractor-trailer into an emergency stop bay, where the truck immediately caught fire. "The driver was able to get out of his cab just in time."
