Another anti-Semitic incident was registered yesterday (Wednesday) against a Jewish restaurant against the backdrop of an iron sword war. The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation into what appears to be a hate crime after walls adjacent to Canter's, a well-known Jewish-style deli near Hollywood, were vandalized with shocking antisemitic graffiti such as "How many dead (should) be for greed?", "Israel's only religion is capitalism", "Israel is a murderer" (where the S for "Israel" was replaced by $) and "Free Gaza".

"If anyone has information that will help bring to justice the perpetrators of this crime, please contact law enforcement," said Jeffrey Adams, regional director of the Anti-Defamation League in Los Angeles, but police have not yet made any arrests. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bays also declared that "we will pursue those responsible for this unacceptable outburst of hatred, and they will bear full responsibility. We will continue to cooperate with the Los Angeles Police Department to not only respond to these antisemitic acts, but also prevent them from occurring in the first place."

Canter's, it should be noted, is one of the most famous and beloved Jewish restaurants in Los Angeles in particular, and in the US (and perhaps the world) in general. It serves, among other things, iconic and authentic dishes from traditional Ashkenazi cuisine such as Kneidlach soup, gefilte fish, borscht soup, blintzes, kishtach, chopped liver, cordenbeef sandwiches and many more. The veteran restaurant, open every day except Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, was founded in 1913 and is a place of pilgrimage for Hollywood stars and musicians, including Jim Carrey, Ryan Gosling, Sarah Silverman, Mick Jagger, Guns N' Roses members, James Corden and others. Over the years, she has also been immortalized in quite a few films and series, such as "Entourage", "Relax" and "Mad Men".
