Against the background of bereavement and great shock from the terrible massacre that took place in the southern communities on that Black Saturday four weeks ago, singer Adam asked last weekend to draw the attention of his followers to cancer, which he has been dealing with in recent months, which he also recognizes in Israeli society.
"How much hatred, how much animosity, how much evil. And not talking about our enemies. Talking about us. As someone who has recently been walking around with cancer in the body and is aware of the extent of its damage, I feel that one of these is growing powerfully and rapidly right within us, in the delicate tissues of our society," he wrote.
Later, he addressed the citizens directly. "I ask you, Israelis, wherever you are and where you are, your beliefs and your political opinions, enough, stop. The upheaval of October 7, that cursed Saturday, will reverberate within us for a long time to come. Let's not allow this upheaval to damage our social fabric. Cancer is a tumor that takes over and rots our body's ability to fight, and finally, if it is not stopped in time, the body surrenders," he explained.

At the same time, he gave a glimpse into the ongoing struggle with the cancer discovered in his body. "That's not to say it's easy; Chemotherapy, radiation, and a host of unbearable side effects are part of what the body deals with and does not enter the soul that is fading and needs special treatment. I was lucky that the discovery was timely, and still five months into the inferno of the greatest war of my life. I ask you, my brothers and sisters, not to wait for it to be too late for our society. To remember now that in order for all of us to have life in this amazing place of ours, we must fight cancer, disease. Not in each other. And if not for us, then for the children, future generations who will stand up and be able to proudly say, 'I am Israeli!'"
