The "Warrior" from the article in El Mundo / Shlomi Heller
A young Spanish man named Pedro Diaz Flores stars in an investigation by Spain's El Mundo newspaper published on Friday, which claims that Israel is recruiting mercenaries to fight Hamas and ISIS terrorists in Gaza. At the center of the article is Flores wearing a Border Police uniform during shooting training and another photo next to Border Police soldiers. In the interview, Flores is presented as a mercenary who fought alongside Ukraine in the war against Russia and is paid "3,900 euros a week" in Israel.
But later in the article, Flores admits that he merely provides assistance in securing checkpoints and border crossings between Israel and Gaza, Egypt and Judea and Samaria.El Mundo is the second most widely distributed newspaper in Spain.

However, Walla's examination of the Border Police, which is not currently involved in the fighting inside Gaza and the forces operating in the Gaza Strip are exclusively IDF, shows that Flores allegedly deceived the Spanish newspaper, used a distorted photo of Border Police reservists photographed last week near Jerusalem, and edited a photo of Border Police fighters that was posted on social networks while appearing in a staged manner.

The Israel Police said in response: "This is false information, the Israel Policedid not approach or hire the services of any mercenary to fight alongside Border Police fighters. Unlike the original attached photo, it can be seen that in the published photo, the face of the fighter is distorted."
