Kohelet Forum filed a complaint against the Chairman of the State Audit Committee, MK Miki Levy. At the beginning of a discussion held today (Monday) on the issue of "the state of emergency food stocks in Israel" of the State Audit Committee headed by MK Miki Levy, it was reported by the participants that the chairman of the committee had approached representatives of the Kohelet Forum who were invited to the discussion and blamed them for the terrible massacre of Israeli citizens on October 7.
After the cameras began to operate and broadcast the committee's discussion, the committee chairman again turned to the representatives of the Kohelet Forum and informed them that they would not receive the right to speak with him in the committee, and even made sure that this would be recorded in the minutes of the discussion. Kohelet believes that MK Mickey Levy exceeded his authority and status.

They allege violations of the ethics committee's decisions on the following issues:
1. A member of Knesset may not exploit his position and immunity in order to defame and harm various people and bodies indiscriminately, especially since those people and bodies have no way of responding or being part of the same discussion (Decision No. 83/18).
2. The chairman of the committee must act in a state manner and ensure that all relevant parties will be invited to discuss the issue determined by them, and that a balanced discussion will be held in which permission to speak for a variety of opinions will be granted (Decision 10/19).
3. The chairman of the committee must treat the committee's invitees in an appropriate and respectful manner, and to the extent possible allow experts invited to the meeting to voice their opinion, even if it does not correspond to the chairman's position (decision 79/18).

Kohelet attacked, claiming: "MK Miki Levy harmed the status of the Knesset and Israeli democracy, who used his power and position to harm civil society bodies by keeping their mouths shut and making blatant accusations of the murderous attack on Israeli citizens. Such behavior by an elected official in Israel cannot be accepted, and it is impossible to accept the degradation of Israeli democracy and its institutions. Civil society organizations are a symbol of the democratic regime in Israel and are clear evidence of the multiplicity of opinions, the diversity of approaches, and the freedom of expression that characterize Israeli society and its institutions. We ask the committee to seriously discuss this complaint and act accordingly against committee chairman MK Miki Levy."
