A day of civilian mourning: Across the country, today (Tuesday) marks 30 days since Hamas' murderous terrorist attack in the south that led to the deaths of some 1,400 Israelis - soldiers, men, women, babies, the elderly and children. The state has not yet set an official day of mourning, and this is expected to happen later, but in the meantime, as in many other areas, a number of citizens have initiated a "civil day of mourning."

The initiative has gained momentum and today at 11:00 a minute of silence will be held throughout the country and the flag will be lowered to half-mast. At 20:00, a ceremony is expected to be held at the Western Wall Plaza by the headquarters of the families of the abductees.
