Since last Saturday, the 252nd Reserve Division (Sinai Formation) has been fighting alongside four infantry brigades (Givati and reserve paratroopers) and reserve armor, in the northern Gaza Strip. In recent days, the division forces took over the Beit Hanoun area while significantly thwarting terrorists, terrorist tunnels and military infrastructure belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization.
Since the beginning of the ground maneuver, the division forces eliminated hundreds of terrorists, including senior members of the Hamas terrorist organization, in the Beit Hanoun and Jabaliya areas. The forces destroyed Hamas combat bases, including forward battle positions connected by tunneling systems to headquarters in civilian population centers.
The ground combat effort is combined with the air strikes of the 454th Fire Brigade. Under the direction of the ground forces and with the support of precise intelligence, the fire brigade destroyed about 300 targets in the past week, including underground targets, observation posts and anti-tank positions. The division's forces took part in the fighting and defense of the communities since Saturday, October 7, in rescue missions and defense of the communities and roads.
