At the beginning of the fighting, British actor Issa Butterfield ("Sex Education," "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas") shared content on his story that he pulled from other accounts and came out against Israel. "Half of Gaza's population are children, trapped in an open prison without food, water, gas or electricity. They watch their homes turn into rubble and have nowhere else to go. The only way to achieve peace is to end the occupation. There is no justification for such killing of Palestinians who pay the price for a crime they did not commit," read the content he chose to share with his 5.4 million followers at the time.

Now, a month into the war, Butterfield, 26, is posting to apologize to his Jewish friends for not speaking before me and sharing a text declaring that Jews are not responsible for the actions of the State of Israel. "To my Jewish friends," he began the story he shared Tuesday night with his millions of followers, "I apologize for not talking about this sooner. The anger directed at you is cruel, racist and must stop," he added. Butterfield shared a text stating that there has been a massive 1,350 percent increase in antisemitic hate crimes in London and that Jews are not responsible for the actions of the Israeli government.
"It's not something that needs to be said. This is not something that should happen. This is not an acceptable thing. Jews should not be exposed to persecution as an affiliate. It is repulsive and shameful and should be condemned," the text read.
"I send support and love to my Jewish friends during this dark time. I see you. Racism in all its forms needs to be eradicated. You can't fight hatred with hatred," he concluded.
Hours after this story, Butterfield chose to share a story about a pro-Palestinian demonstration on October 11 in London's Hyde Park.
