Adi Marom told her hundreds of thousands of followers on Tuesday night the inspiring story of Maj. Aharon Paresh, z"l, who fell on October 7 while bravely defending the Urim base where he served, and showed kindness to his comrades at the base by informing them of the terrorists' infiltration, warning them against coming to the site and thus saving their lives. Marom decided to remember the late Paresh, who loved cheesecakes, through a recipe for cheesecake of yesteryear, but one that is particularly impressive.

"I prepared this recipe to commemorate the late Aharon Paresh, a 36-year-old sergeant major, father of five, who fell in the line of duty," Marom wrote in her moving story. "He really liked cakes, especially cheesecakes. Aaron was an amazing person," she said.

Marom said that Paresh was a devoted father and an exemplary husband. He left at seven o'clock in the morning on the morning of the massacre that occurred on October 7, without hesitation, and fought with great bravery. "He was shot at at the vehicle at the exit from Ofakim. Despite everything, he continued towards the base, thinking he would reach safety. He arrived at the Home Front Command Urim base in the south, where he served, heard shots, came out and realized they were terrorists," she said.

She added: "He quickly called his commander and all the veteran guys behind him, telling them not to come because they were being shot. He saved a lot of lives! Even in times of trouble, think of others. After updating his friends, he went out, took the weapon of an officer who was there on the floor, and tried to control the incident, but they were numerous and brutal. May his memory be blessed."

Method of preparation

  • Preheat oven to 220 degrees upper and lower heat (static).
  • At the bottom of the oven we will place a tray into which water is poured.
  • Upholstered a round pan 24 diameter with baking paper.
  • To a large bowl we will add white cheese, cream cheese, sour cream and whisk well.
  • We will separate eggs into proteins and yolks. Add the yolks to the cheese bowl.
  • Sift the pudding, flour, and cornstarch into the cheese mixture and mix well until all the ingredients are assimilated.
  • Into the mixer bowl with the foaming balloon we will add proteins, turn on medium speed and gradually add the sugar. Beat for about 6 minutes until you get a soft, but not very firm foam.
  • In three steps, transfer the whipped protein to the cheese bowl and unite by licking, folding motions, until you get a smooth, puffy and white batter.
  • Pour the cake batter onto the pre-prepared pan, shake the batter slightly to remove air bubbles and straighten with a spoon.
  • Put in the oven preheated at 220 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, open the oven door to let out steam and lower the oven heat to 150 degrees.
  • We will continue baking the cake for another hour. After an hour, turn off the oven and open the oven door slightly, letting the cake stay inside for another 40 minutes. Then we will remove it, and let it cool completely.
  • We will put it in the refrigerator for 5-6 hours (recommended even overnight). After cooling, carefully remove it from the pan, sprinkle powdered sugar over it for decoration.
