Firefighters from the Ayalon station arrived at the scene to rescue the victims. MDA paramedic Shneur Offner and senior MDA medic Nehorai Biner said: "This was a serious car accident between two vehicles. The driver of one of the vehicles, a 2-year-old man, was trapped in his vehicle unconscious and suffering from severe multi-system injuries. At the same time as the rescue operations, we carried out medical examinations, but his injury was critical and we had no choice but to pronounce him dead. The driver of the other vehicle, who sustained minor injuries, was treated at the scene and taken by MDA ambulance to hospital while fully conscious. Two cyclists who were near the accident site sustained minor injuries from one of the vehicles and after a medical examination did not require evacuation to hospital."
