Finland has a large army, the vast majority of which relies on reservists who are mobilized by call and undergo routine training. The main strategic threat to Finland's security is Russia, which has shown in the past that it is willing to intervene militarily on the borders of its neighbors. Russia has a large variety of ballistic and cruise missiles and it is no secret that Helsinki is interested in missile defense systems of several types.

Maj. Gen. (res.) Yoav Har Even, CEO of Rafael: "Rafael's David's Sling system is a significant part of Israel's multi-layered defense system, and the system is proving itself in the current campaign to be essential in defending the country's skies and residents. We are proud of the deal signed to export the system abroad for the first time, and invest a significant part of the revenues from export deals in development and independent R&D budgets, in order to provide the defense establishment with the most advanced capabilities, and hence the profit is doubled. Rafael will continue to act proudly to fulfill its mission to be a significant pillar of national security."
