Highlights: The mother of Almog Meir, who was kidnapped to Gaza, appealed to Netanyahu: "We will not allow a situation in which they remain abducted as a bargaining chip, bring everyone home" Orit Meir wrote to the Prime Minister against the backdrop of reports of a deal being formulated to release some of the hostages. "I call on you, Prime Minister of Israel, to increase the pace, time is short - I don't want sympathy or excuses, I want and demand results and fast."

Orit Meir wrote to the Prime Minister against the backdrop of reports of a deal being formulated to release some of the hostages from Hamas captivity: "I call on you, Prime Minister of Israel, to increase the pace, time is short - I don't want sympathy or excuses, I want and demand results and fast."

Orit Meir, mother of Gaza abductee Almog Meir Jan, sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanding the return of all the abductees, in light of reports of a deal being formulated with Hamas according to which only some of the abductees will be released at this stage.

Almog's mother wrote to Prime Minister Netanyahu: "My name is Orit Meir and I am the mother of Almog Meir Jan, a happy and amazing 21-year-old boy who was brutally kidnapped to Gaza from a Nova party in Kibbutz Reim that Saturday, October 7. In recent days, there has been an onslaught of media reports about the agreements allegedly being formulated between Israel and Hamas, most of which, so far, have no foundation. I would like to write to you personally in order to precise what is important to us as the family of the abducted Almog Meir Jan.

"First, the State of Israel must return all the abductees to the last of them. Including Hadar Goldin, Oron Shaul and anyone held captive in Gaza. We support the efforts of the State of Israel to strive for a deal that includes the release of all the abductees, with the guideline must be clear – the Israel Defense Forces will not leave the Gaza Strip until the last of the abductees leaves. It is your moral duty to us as a family and as citizens of this country!"

She added: "We expect the IDF to do everything in its power to locate the abductees and find them, regardless of this or that deal, because there is no doubt that the military pressure on Hamas is making its mark. All the abductees must return home, on their feet, on a stretcher or in a coffin, but all must return home as soon as possible. We, as the family of the abducted Almog Meir Jan, will not give our hands to a situation in which a number of abductees remain in the hands of Hamas for a long time, as a bargaining chip, while life in Israel returns to normal. That's not going to happen!"

Not returning all the hostages means losing the Gaza war! A situation in which they do not return all the abductees will lead to a breach of the basic contract between the state and its citizens. Many citizens will see themselves relieved of their duty to the state in civil aspects. The return of the hostages is a condition for the beginning of the country's reconstruction after the end of the war. Without the return of the abductees, there will be no revival for the State of Israel."

Meir concluded in her letter: "I call on you, Prime Minister of Israel, to increase the pace. Time is short and each passing day reduces the chances of bringing our abductees home intact. The abductees have languished for 41 days in dark cellars. I don't want sympathy or excuses. I want and demand results and fast."
