US report: Israel and Hamas, mediated by the United States, have agreed on the tentative details of the deal to release hostages in exchange for a five-day lull in the fighting, The Washington Post reported Saturday night, citing people familiar with the details.

The report noted that the release of the abductees is expected to begin in the coming days, if there are no further delays, adding that according to the agreement, at least 50 abductees will be released in small groups every 24 hours during the lull.
The newspaper noted that the truce was intended to allow a significant increase in the scope of humanitarian aid, including fuel, to enter the Gaza Strip via Egypt. In addition, the agreement states that Israel will continue to move over the Gaza Strip in order to monitor what is happening in Gaza during the ceasefire in question.
The Israeli embassy in Washington declined to comment on the report.
