On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Téva is dedicating an entire evening to this scourge. This Saturday, starting at 21 p.m., Anaïs Bouton will host a debate entitled "Femicides: what solutions to protect women?" To try to answer the question, the journalist will welcome Sandrine Bouchait, president of the National Union of Families of Femicides, who lost her sister in 2017, burned by her husband; Isabelle Steyer, criminal lawyer and women's rights activist; Luc Frémiot, a former magistrate who has made the fight against domestic violence his major battle, and Juan José Dorado, a Spanish journalist in Paris.

Women who are victims of domestic violence will also testify. Like Josiane, who was beaten by her partner for eight years. "At the start, it was all rosy, like all the time. And it got worse, with alcohol helping, as is often the case. I found myself pregnant with a baby boy and when my son was six years old, the violence was at one end so I left because I was threatened with a gun," she explains on the show.

Despite the separation, her ex-boyfriend is still threatening her. "We tried to go to the family court judge. He had warned his lawyer that I wouldn't have time to climb the stairs because I'd be dead first," the woman added. At the end of this hearing, which he did not attend, the man was ordered to leave Josiane's home. For six months, she did not hear from him. "And in January 2005, he came to the house and shot me four times, at close range, I took two bullets in the arm and two bullets in the stomach," she said. Luckily, at that moment, her son was at school but above all a friend was present in the house and immediately called the gendarmes and the fire brigade. This will certainly save Josiane's life.

Starring Odile Vuillemin and Fred Testot, the drama attracted 8.5 million viewers, or 33% of the audience share, when it was first broadcast on TF1 on 26 January 2015.
