infuriating: UN Women continues to ignore Israeli women at war | Israel Hayom

2023-11-26T11:57:43.694Z

Highlights: The UN published 26 statements and posts on the Palestinian issue, compared to three joint posts relating to both fatalities in Israel and the situation in Gaza. There is a quote from the Palestinian Health Ministry, a call for an immediate ceasefire, and testimonies from Palestinian women from Gaza. In addition, the posts are accompanied by photos from the Gaza Strip only, with no pictures of the victims in the envelope. "The findings of the report are further proof of the sad fact that there is an inherent bias and over-sympathy for the Palestinian people in the world," said Tzur Bar-Oz, Head of Diaspora Affairs.

The organization published testimonies of Palestinian women from Gaza, but none of the testimony of an Israeli woman • Even when referring to fatalities in Israel, they did so together with a reference to the killing in Gaza • Tzur Bar-Oz, Head of Research and External Relations at the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and the Fight against Antisemitism: "Working to reflect that this is a clear bias"

The Research Division of the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism publishes a report examining statements made by the United Nations Organization for the Advancement and Empowerment of Women (UN Women) regarding women in Israel vis-à-vis women in Gaza, beginning October 7.

The study found that the organization published 26 statements and posts on the Palestinian issue, compared to a meager reference of three joint posts relating to both fatalities in Israel and the situation in Gaza. It is important to note that these joint posts only use the hashtag #Gaza.

There is no condemnation of Hamas in the statements. There is a quote from the Palestinian Health Ministry, a call for an immediate ceasefire, and testimonies from Palestinian women from Gaza. Not a single Israeli woman testified about the atrocities she endured on October 7. In addition, the organization's posts are accompanied by photos from the Gaza Strip only, with no pictures of the massacre in the envelope.

Minister of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Amichai Shikli said in response to the publication of the report: "The conduct of UN institutions since the events of October 7 from the Secretary-General down is a mark of shame for the most basic human values. As an ancient nation that brought to the world the Ten Commandments and the commandment "Thou shalt not kill," we watch with horror the growing moral decline of an institution that was born as a result of the Allied victory against the Nazis and became eighty years later one of the strongest bastions of anti-Semitism. We passed Pharaoh – we will also pass Khamenei and Guterres."

"The findings of the report are further proof of the sad fact that there is an inherent bias and over-sympathy for the Palestinian people in the world than for the atrocities we endured on October 7," said Tzur Bar-Oz, Head of Research and External Relations at the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and the Struggle against Antisemitism. In this case, we are working extensively to reflect around the world that this is a clear bias, and yes, in the coming days we will issue more such reports and demand clarification from those organizations."
