Another respite in the war between Israel and Hamas. The four-day truce reached as part of an agreement between the two sides, mediated by Qatar, Egypt and the United States, was due to end at 7 a.m. local time (6 GMT) on Tuesday morning. Late Monday, Qatar said the truce would be extended for two days, until Thursday morning, which Hamas confirmed afterward, "under the same conditions as the previous truce."
