The Biden administration will not condition continued security assistance to Israel, Politico reported. One of the officials told Politico that they do not intend to rethink the conduct vis-à-vis Jerusalem, at least not anytime soon. However, another source in the article said that Netanyahu was perceived by Biden as a "challenging partner" who did not always worry about the issue of releasing the hostages, but also focused on political considerations regarding his future as prime minister.

It was also reported that the White House's position could lead to a political clash with members of Biden's party. "We (the Americans) have conditions that already bind our aid when it's given to other countries," Senator Chris told Fox News, who is considered close to President Biden.

Senator Bernie Sanders has already publicly announced that conditions should be imposed on continued aid and even arms transfers should be prevented until Israel "ceases its senseless bombing" of Gaza and commits to promoting peace talks.

Senator Chris Murphy added during an interview with CNN, "We regularly condition our assistance to allies in compliance with the U.S. Constitution and international law. This is consistent with the ways in which we have delivered aid, especially in times of war, to our allies," he added.

On the progressive side of the Democratic Party, voices continue to grow calling on Biden to promote a permanent ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, instead of the truce set for the release of the hostages.

According to the report, the US administration is using the pause that has been taking place for several days to work with Israel on a more focused and deliberate plan for the continuation of the ground fighting, especially in the southern Gaza Strip, where many Gaza residents are located.

It is also noted that the US was slightly able to influence the initial ground incursion plan, which included fewer troops than the original number planned.

Guy Ziv, an expert on U.S.-Israel policy at American University, said that "if anyone breaks the rules regarding setting conditions for military aid to Israel, it will be the progressives, not President Biden."
