Yaya Sow, a 48-year-old man, who was present at the scene of the accident, saw the driver flee. He then decides to follow him and force him to stop. Yaya Sow doesn't hesitate to damage his own car to stop the driver.
This heroic act is warmly welcomed by all as mentioned by the local radio France Bleu Limousin. Thanks to Yaya Sow, the driver was able to be arrested by the police. He was driving without a licence or insurance and has since been sentenced to three years in prison. But the story doesn't end there for Yaya Sow, who finds himself without a vehicle after helping to arrest the driver. Being self-employed in the construction industry, his car is necessary to continue his activity.

With some savings, he buys a new used car, but it quickly breaks down, as he tells the local radio. Yaya Sow has no choice but to take the bus or "ask friends" to get to work. Faced with this situation, Cathy Meunier, a woman from Limoges, moved by Yaya Sow's heroic act, decided to launch an online fundraiser so that he could buy a car. Thanks to the mobilization of a few elected officials and local figures, more than 12,000 euros have been collected to date. Yaya Sow told local radio of his emotion: "It's huge for me. It goes straight to my heart!" He also already knows which vehicle he will buy: it will be a utility vehicle.
