Highlights: If there is no agreement, the elections will not be held next Sunday, December 3. Andrés Ibarra accused the ruling party led by Juan Román Riquelme of manipulating the electoral roll in his favor. The courts will end up deciding whether the members can vote. The current leadership suspects that the postponement of the elections has to do with the inauguration of Javier Milei. Then, the new president will have to appoint another head for the General Inspectorate of Justice (IGJ)

It was convened after the denunciations of the front headed by Andrés Ibarra for the passage to the active category of thousands of adherent members. If there is no agreement, the elections will not be held next Sunday, December 3.

The political battle continues in Boca and this Thursday it will have a new chapter, perhaps decisive. After the complaint in the Buenos Aires Justice of the opposition candidate Andrés Ibarra, who accused the ruling party led by Juan Román Riquelme of manipulating the electoral roll in his favor, there will be a conciliatory hearing in Court No. 11 and from that meeting it will be defined if there are elections on Sunday as scheduled.

Judge Alejandra Débora Abrevaya granted the request of the opponent, the registry was observed and they will have to reach an agreement. Or not. In that case, the elections could be held in March next year and the current authorities would continue to be in charge. The specter of the intervention is already hovering over the banks of the Riachuelo.

Ibarra questioned 13,364 members who went from adherents to active between August and November 2021 and, as he told Clarín, he is not willing to negotiate. Meanwhile, the ruling party recognizes 4,100 in that period and could propose that they vote in three special tables. And that if the difference at the time of the count is equal to or less than that number, only then will Justice take action on the matter.

"I imagine that in this situation there are fundamental decisions that for the good of the club must be taken by the IGJ, but we as an opposition have to be very careful of the things they can do in that period. So that is a legal issue that is going to have to be defined because it would be an unforeseen transition period," Mauricio Macri's sidekick told this newspaper.

The current leadership suspects that the postponement of the elections has to do with the inauguration of Javier Milei. Then, the new president will have to appoint another head for the General Inspectorate of Justice (IGJ), currently managed by the Kirchnerist Guillermo Nissen.

Ibarra, in a conversation with this newspaper, banished the rumor.

"What if they take the club over us?" they ask at Brandsen 805. The courts will end up deciding whether the members can vote.
