Amid outrage over the silence of international organizations over the severe sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas terrorists in the Black Saturday terrorist attacks, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres addressed the rapes on Thursday night on The X and stated that it should be thoroughly investigated.
CNN presents: Evidence that women were raped before being murdered on October 7
In a tweet on Network X, Guterres wrote: "There is a lot of evidence of sexual violence during the heinous acts committed by Hamas on October 7, and it must be thoroughly investigated and brought to justice. Sexual violence must be condemned. Anytime. Everywhere."
At the same time, Reuters reported that the chairman of a UN commission to investigate war crimes by both sides in the conflict announced that she intended to focus on the sexual violence perpetrated in the terrorist attacks in the surrounding communities.
Committee Chairwoman Navi Pillay added that she intends to call for evidence to be submitted to the committee as soon as possible. It should be noted that Israel is not cooperating with the committee.
