An 18-year-old delinquent suffered a gunshot wound on Friday when he shot at the policeand was arrested, after having stolen from a young woman a backpack with 1,500 dollars that he had bought in an exchange house in Villa Celina.
It all began around 14:30 p.m. on 2700 Olavarría Street, in this Buenos Aires town in the La Matanza district, in the southwest of the suburb.
According to police spokesmen, a 24-year-old woman left an exchange house with a bag containing $1,500 and tried to get into a car that was waiting for her outside the business.
However, before reaching the vehicle, she was surprised by a motorcyclist who got off the motorcycle on which she was riding with an accomplice and, after a struggle, managed to steal her bag and escape.
The whole sequence was noticed by an agent who was touring the area and who, after the robbery, shouted the voice "stop".
At that moment, the robber fired a shot at the policeman, who responded in the same way with his regulation firearm and managed to wound the assailant.
Specifically, the offender received a gunshot wound in the right thigh and left rib area, while his accomplice fled on the motorcycle and remains at large. The officer was unharmed.
The suspect, 18 years old and domiciled in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Bajo Flores, was arrested and a 9-millimeter Tanfoglio caliber pistol with the suppressed numbering that he had in his possession was seized.
He intervenes in the personal case of the Functional Investigation Unit (UFI) 8 of the Judicial Department of La Matanza, which ordered the survey of the security cameras.
