A video of fighters rescuing a puppy from the rubble of a building attacked in the Gaza Strip went viral on Sunday – showing the IDF's beautiful side.
Since the beginning of the IDF's ground operation in the Gaza Strip following Hamas' terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, fighters and dogs from the "Oketz" unit of the Marom Brigade have joined the infantry, armored and engineering forces in Gaza. The fighters and dogs join forces with the other forces, thereby assisting in locating and finding terrorists, locating explosives and weapons, and locating missing persons and fallen soldiers.

Since the outbreak of the Iron Swords War, at least four dogs, which took a significant part in the fighting together with the unit's fighters, were killed during clashes inside the Gaza Strip, while defending IDF forces with their bodies. The dogs were brought to the unit for burial in the designated plot.
The prime minister's Arabic spokesman, Ofir Gendelman, even published footage last month showing the unit's dogs attacking terrorists underground.
