Highlights: The Attorney General will publish her diaries in accordance with the rules | Israel Hayom. In January, it was revealed here that the attorney general was deleting information from the diary without specifying why she deleted. This goes against the procedure according to which "when there is a reason for not providing information, the information should not be omitted altogether, but must be blackened by indicating the specific cause of blackout." While the procedure requires the names of meeting participants to be published, the attorneygeneral did not mention this, nor did she mention the topics of the meeting.

Attorney General Gali Bahar-Miara decided to publish her diary in accordance with the rules like other senior civil servants, following Israel Hayom's exposure of keeping a diary in violation of Freedom of Information rules binding on the Ministry of Justice, and in fact contrary to the positions she herself submitted to the High Court of Justice.

Reminder: In January, it was revealed here that the attorney general was deleting information from the diary without specifying why she deleted. This goes against the procedure according to which "when there is a reason for not providing information, the information should not be omitted altogether, but must be blackened by indicating the specific cause of blackout." While the procedure requires the names of meeting participants to be published, the attorney general did not mention this, nor did she mention the topics of the meeting.

Following the publication, Adv. Elad Mann, counsel for the "Success" association, contacted the Ministry of Justice and claimed that the manner in which the diary was published was improper. The request was part of exhausting proceedings prior to filing a petition to the court against the counselor. Mann was recently summoned to a meeting in the ministry with Deputy Attorney General Avital Sompolinsky and with the ministry's Freedom of Information Officer, Vita Zak. At the meeting, it was decided that from now on the attorney general would publish the diary properly, and after the war she would also properly publish some diary files that she had published in the past in violation of the rules.

Attorney Mann welcomed the decision. "It is hoped that from now on, the diary of the Attorney General and the State Attorney will be published quarterly regularly, as promised, and this will serve as an example to the other government ministries on the subject," he added.
