Sister Noam painfully eulogized him: "My little brother is 19 years old, who will always remain my little brother of 19, what am I supposed to say? How am I supposed to go on with my life now without you? How?.
You were a smart, beautiful, funny boy, you would always drive us crazy until you could pull the hairs out of your head and within a second make everyone laugh as if nothing had happened. You were a kid everyone loved, always smiling, making everyone laugh, full of grace."

"You did the journey with a swollen ankle, but you didn't give up, you fought with your father who wouldn't take the PKL from you, but in the end you gave up and gave. You ended the journey like a big one and I'm so proud of you. I am proud to say that I am your older sister, I am Amit Ziv's sister. Come home. Come to the last game against Yair. Amit please come back. I'm waiting for you."

Amit was a basketball player for Maccabi Petah Tikva and Ironi Rosh HaAyin. Yonatan Nimni, who coached him, eulogized him: "A lovely charming boy, who I coached until last year at Maccabi Petah Tikva. Always smiling, a real man. No words. May his memory be blessed. It's heartbreaking." The basketball club said: "Maccabi Petah Tikva Basketball Club weeps, hurts and shares in the sorrow of the dear Ziv family over the untimely death of Sergeant Amit Ziv. Avichai Hala, from the youth department in Ironi Rosh HaAyin, said of him: "Not caught. I hugged you two weeks ago. Amit has played in our youth basketball department since first grade. An amazing boy with a huge heart, always the first to lend a hand, help, contribute, a soulful player and extremely talented. Everyone wanted to be with him, play with him, laugh with him. Amit, brother of our youth team captain Yair Ziv. We share in your grief our dear family, may his memory be blessed, I love you Amit."

Amit also coached children. Assaf Gamzu painfully eulogized him: "My heart is broken. We met when you were 15 and since then you've been close to me as a talented assistant coach. You would accompany me to almost all the training, study and work with the children. After a year, you started coaching on your own. You were a shy child who managed to overcome the difficulty and become a coach loved by all the children. You were an athlete at every level, you knew how to respect and appreciate everyone who stood in front of you, you were invested and dedicated to all your goals."

"Amit, today I felt that this accursed war had reached my heart. When I saw the ad, the shock led to uncontrollable crying. I loved you true love and only last Monday we talked about you, me and Dad Guy. Dear Amit, lie in peace, a hero of Israel and a righteous man of our generation."
