Humanitarian situation in Gaza due to Israeli war

First reported on 22 December: Gaza/Tel Aviv – The humanitarian situation in Gaza is becoming increasingly catastrophic. Due to the "globally unprecedented" situation, the United Nations warns of the starvation of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. "I've never seen anything like it," said World Food Programme (WFP) spokeswoman Shaza Moghraby. "The scale of acute food insecurity is unprecedented in terms of severity, rate of deterioration, and complexity."

A new study concludes that 577,000 people in Gaza fall into the most serious category of hunger. In the rest of the world combined, however, there are currently 129,000 people who, according to the analysis, are similarly threatened.
