Heavy mourning in Moshav Ganei Am in the Southern Sharon Regional Council upon learning of the death in battle in the Gaza Strip of a local son, Sergeant Rani Tamir, 20, a soldier in Battalion 50, Nahal Brigade. Rani is survived by his parents, Sharon and Eldad, two brothers Eyal and Yair, and one sister, Dana.

Rani's mother, Sharon, eulogized him: "Rancholon. I don't know how so many lives can end like this. You gave us 20 years. From a relaxed, dreamy baby, you became a child who clashed with the world. You grew up to be a sensitive, thinking, happy and life-hungry teenager. You've found the Cruiser Circle. You found the excursions. the country. You were a glorious elder brother – aware of responsibility, personal example and very aware of your rights."

A child who collided with the world

"Against all the books, you were a sharing teenager – you shared with Dad and me your heartaches and dilemmas, how you felt about that person and how it was with that person, and we would sit in front of you gaping and marveling at the depth of thought, the honesty. We call this the ability to observe reflectively. You were really good at it. Thank goodness you did it at the entrance too. You left us diaries full of your words and your soul. Thanks for that."

"Thank God you managed to devour life too. You managed to travel, love, dive (without seeing a turtle), eat good food, develop a fine taste in music, fly to Spain. Even fight the supply. You were surrounded by real friends and meaningfulness. We were told that just before it happened, you made fun of it. Somehow, it's comforting."

"We are so proud of you, we believe that our peace here is thanks to you. Our great prayer is that after we emerge from this horror, we will merit a different spirit. I promise you, and I promise us and your brothers, we will not stop missing. Council head Oshrat Ganei Gonen eulogized him: "It is with great sorrow and deep pain that we received the bitter news of the death of Rani Tamir, 20, from Ganei Am, who fell yesterday in battle in the line of duty. The heart is broken. The family of the Southern Sharon Regional Council bows its head and shares in the deep sorrow of the families of Tamir, Frank and the entire Ganei Am community at this unbearable time. May Rani's memory be blessed forever."

"We will not stop missing"

Rani studied at the Yarkon School, which issued an obituary: "It is with great sorrow and a painful heart, that we announce the death of Sergeant Rani Tamir, a graduate of our school, class 50, Magnei Am. Rani was a soldier in the Nahal's 20th Battalion, <> years old when he fell. We share in the family's deep sorrow. We hope for quieter days."

Rani was also a graduate of Hashomer's pre-military leadership program, which issued a statement as well.
