Gilad Korngold, whose two grandchildren, Neveh and Yahel Shoham, returned from captivity and his son Tal, who are still kidnapped in Gaza, spoke at the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday. "My granddaughter counts to ten in Arabic, says to me, 'Grandpa, Shwaya Shwaya.' It's crazy. We have to bring them back."
"We were told the same thing in the previous beat. Over the course of six beats, we took out close to a hundred unfortunate people, including my grandchildren," said Gilad Korngold, whose grandchildren, Neveh and Yahel, were released in the second phase. "My granddaughter, who is three and a half years old, speaks Arabic fluently, counts to ten. She says to me, 'Grandpa, Shweya Shweya.' It's psychic. My daughter-in-law doesn't even understand where she is," he said, referring to Neveh and Yahel's mother, Adi Shoham, "and there's worse than that, there are people who have lost limbs."

"We have to bring them back. This is the duty of the state," Korngold added, adding, "No one is doing me any favors. As soon as my son and all the abductees are back, anyone who wants to continue fighting can. Whoever wants to continue without taking out the abductees would do well to put his family there and take mine out."
He further called on the government: "I suffered, I sacrificed a nephew in Operation Protective Edge, I am not willing to sacrifice my family anymore. Enough. I haven't had a life for nine years."
