Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer will meet with senior US administration officials on Tuesday to examine whether there is a delay in sending arms shipments to Israel. So far, since the beginning of the war, the US has sent about 300 planes with supplies and armaments to Israel, along with a number of ships carrying equipment that reached Israeli ports.
In recent days, the defense establishment has created the impression that the pace of American response to Israeli arms requests has slowed. However, it is unclear to the political leadership whether the reasons for the delay are. One possibility is that these are only technical delays that delay the preparation of shipments and their shipment to Israel. Another, and more troubling, possibility is that there is political intent on the part of the administration to slow the supply of equipment to Israel in order to influence government policy.

In an attempt to understand the reason behind the delay, Dermer will meet with senior White House and State Department officials to clarify the issue, where he will present Israel's feeling that requests are being answered at a less rapid pace than in the past.
Political sources emphasize that there is no certainty that the Americans are delaying arms shipments, and that there is a possibility that this is only an Israeli impression. They noted that it may be just technical delays, or the end-of-year vacation, which is slowing down, rather than a substantive dispute with the United States.
Dermer is also expected to meet with National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. As noted, throughout the war, the United States backed its goals in a manner, and President Biden declared many times that Hamas should be destroyed. However, Biden and other senior administration officials have expressed expectations that Israel will exercise more caution when it comes to harming uninvolved Gazans.
