The wave of foreign airlines returning to Israel continues, and now Greek airline Aegean has also announced that it will resume operations to Israel in about two weeks, on January 11, 2024.
The Greek Airlines will operate four flights a week on the Athens-Tel Aviv route, and in the next stage, starting in February, the company is expected to expand its operations on routes to and from Israel.
Aegean joins a series of airlines that have already announced their return to Israel, headed by the Lufthansa Group, which returns with Austrian, Swiss and Lufthansa starting January 8, Air Seychelles which will return on February 6, Romanian Tarom which will return on January 1, and apparently also United in the United States, which is expected to return in early February.
Additional airlines are expected to return to Israel in the near future, with some of the companies considering returning to Israel considered large and significant.
The main foreign airlines currently operating in Israel are Ethiopian Airlines, Fly Dubai, Etihad, Uzbekistan Airways, Hainan, Red Wings and Azimut. Of course, Israeli airlines have also been operating continuously since the beginning of the war.
