The Central District police today (Wednesday) submitted to the court a prosecutor's statement against three residents of the Bedouin community of Hura in the Negev, after they solved the murder case of Aya Hajaj, which occurred about a month ago in Lod. The statement was filed against the victim's father (51), her 14-year-old brother and another relative. An indictment will be filed in the coming days.
Investigators from the Special Crime Fighting Unit in the Shfela area, in cooperation with Lod police officers, opened an investigation about a month ago, after receiving a report about an advanced pregnant woman who had been stabbed multiple times in front of her small children on HaAliya Street in the city of Lod, when the stabber fled the scene. The victim, a 25-year-old mother of three from the city, was evacuated in critical condition to a medical center, where she was pronounced dead and the fetus in her womb was pronounced dead.

The father sent the son to murder his sister
As the investigation unfolded and the evidence was established, it was suspected that the victim's 14-year-old brother stabbed her to death and then fled the scene to the southern region in a waiting vehicle, driven by his 15-year-old cousin. The investigation revealed that the daughter and her father had a troubled and violent relationship, including a few months ago he severely beat her and fractured her body, but she refused to complain and claimed to the police that she had fallen down the stairs. Investigators suspect and have even obtained evidence that it was the father who sent his 14-year-old son to murder his sister.
Central District Commander Lt. Gen. Avi Biton praised the investigators of the Shfela Police Department and the Lod Station for their professional conduct of an investigation that led to a quick resolution of the murder and bringing those involved to justice.
