Exactly five months after giving birth to her daughter Naya, Lucy Ayoub posted a story on her Instagram on Wednesday in which she shared the difficult feelings that have accompanied her since the October 7 massacre and the war that broke out in their wake. In the same breath, she also sharply criticized the country's leaders, who, in her opinion, do not provide the necessary feelings of trust and security.

"There are days when I'm out with Naya, there's good air, she smiles at me and for a small moment I manage not to think about the war," Ayoub shared in the very brief moments when she still gains peace of mind. "But most days her smile mostly reminds me that there are too many people who haven't had a single moment like this for 80 days," she added, alluding to the abductees and their families.

She went on to write about her personal feeling about leading the country: "The feeling that there is no horizon, nothing to hold on to, and no one to rely on suffocates more than day by day, there are those who benefit from our ability to adapt, from the stupor that has been doomed to us. But we must not get used to this reality!" she warned. In another story posted by Job shortly thereafter, she photographed a dark room with a small sliver of light coming in from a crack in the door, and wrote "unrested."

Not long ago, Ayoub shared the amount of hateful messages she receives: "I am so saddened to receive a flood of hateful messages and threats. Hundreds of violent and racist messages that come to me every day. The pain is immense, the anger is great. Each and every one of us has a different way of coping with bereavement, with trauma, with immense difficulty. This is not the time to judge. Our hope lies where we are united. This is not the time for baseless hatred. Only the light will prevail."
