Hamas is trying to take advantage of the New Year's preparations and Christmas events to mobilize world public opinion to exert pressure on Israel and the United States to move forward with declaring a ceasefire. "This is a demand to immediately stop the Zionist aggression and genocide in Gaza, and a condemnation of the Biden administration's support for the Nazi occupation," Hamas said in a statement, "We call on the free world to continue all expressions of support for the Palestinian people and its just cause, so that the next days left from the past year will be a united global cry, in all languages and with one human voice - to stop the aggression in Gaza."
