Justice Minister Yariv Levin responded Thursday to the publication of the leak of the draft according to which the High Court of Justice will invalidate the law to cancel the grounds of reasonableness. "The Supreme Court should act responsibly and not create a deep rift in the nation."

"While our soldiers are fighting side by side on various fronts, and while the entire nation is grieving the loss of many lives, the people of Israel must not be torn apart by divisions. The citizens of Israel expect the Supreme Court not to issue a controversial ruling even among its justices during war," Levin wrote, adding that the people's elected representatives in the Knesset are working to ensure that the legislative processes are conducted with broad consensus and avoiding controversial issues.
MK Karine Elharrar responded to Levin's remarks, saying, "His demand shows a basic lack of understanding regarding the roles of Supreme Court justices. The minister is expected to respect every ruling, even if he does not agree with it."

They are not politicians and their job is to rule on petitions without instructions from anyone, not even the justice minister.

Yesterday, it was reported that the High Court of Justice is expected to strike down the Reasonable Cause Elimination Law by a majority of eight justices to seven opposed. The judiciary responded to the leak, saying that the verdict was not finished and would be published after it was written.
