Terror victims who were entitled to compensation after a lawsuit against the terrorists and the Palestinian Authority are seeking to transfer to them the compensation awarded out of the funds seized tonight at the offices of money changers in Judea and Samaria.
During the night, the Judea and Samaria Division carried out an unusual divisional operation called "Golden Swords" against money changers who maintain ties with Hamas. At least NIS 10 million was seized in the raid on money changers' offices, and it is estimated that there are more funds that have not yet been counted, in digital wallets and the like.
Attorney Ravid Sharon, an expert in tort law who also represents terror victims in lawsuits against terrorists and the Palestinian Authority, appealed to the Execution Office and asked to transfer the compensation to which his clients are entitled out of the amount seized. "Precisely out of the funds now seized, it will act morally to encourage the spirit, strengthen the soldiers at the front, and even encourage victims of terror," he wrote.
According to Sharon, "At this time, unity is also important in the course of action – everyone in his field must act in order to bring victory – and economic warfare is an important battlefield in itself. Thus, the concept of "together we will win" is of additional importance to the need for unity within the people. Together, even when each fights with the tools at his disposal to harm the enemy. We believe that transferring the funds directly from the enemy's coffers to the pockets of terror victims has an important moral value."
