According to the indictment, the two participated in a march held last month in the city, during which they called directly for acts of terrorism. The demonstration was held on October 19, attended by 300-200 people, in which they expressed support for the Gaza Strip and opposed the war – without police permission or a permit to hold the march. During the speech, Jabarin, 31, and Khalifa, 41, spoke on a megaphone for about half an hour, during which they repeated several attacks and even called out praise, sympathy and encouragement for an act of terrorism, support for it and identification with it and Hamas.

Tibi claimed that the two had only expressed their opposition to the war, without any reference on his part to their call to carry out terrorist attacks as alleged in the indictment. According to Tibi, since October 7 there have been dozens of arrests of Arab citizens for acts that normally do not lead to arrest.

Tibi chose to focus his remarks on these two, Jabarin and Khalifa. "They've been in detention for more than two months because they wanted to demonstrate against the war," he said. They said enough to war, it kills people." Tibi took issue with the frequent remand extensions, calling them "vindictive acts" by the police and the Shin Bet.
