A Palestinian, a resident of Hebron without residence permits, stole a car from a neighborhood in north Jerusalem and was arrested by district police. The arrest was made at the end of a chase, during which the suspect committed serious traffic offenses and caused extensive damage to infrastructure.
The policemen's suspicions arose after they identified a vehicle without a rear windshield during a proactive activity in the neighborhood. When the driver spotted the officers, he began to flee while driving recklessly, passing red lights, getting onto the train tracks, hitting fences and a pole, until the vehicle stopped.
