The government is working to amend the decision to return the residents of the envelope 7-4 km away and remove the "no return" component.

According to the proposed amendment, those who choose to try to return to the envelope will be allowed to return to the hotels if they so wish. This followed the harsh criticism voiced today by the heads of the local authorities in the envelope and published extensively in Israel Hayom.
Defense Minister Yoav Galant held a special assessment of the situation in Dorot regarding the process of returning the communities in the envelope. Prior to that, the minister toured the kibbutz and insisted on the preparedness of the site for the return of residents from a security and civilian standpoint. The defense minister spoke with members of the alert squad about their activities.
Galant: "We will bring the residents back soon"
Defense Minister Yoav Galant said of the residents' return to the surrounding communities: "I have now returned from the Gaza Strip, where I met the fighters. They are fighting with their faces at the enemy and with their backs the communities near the Gaza Strip. They know their mission, they carry it out very well so that here, in the Gaza envelope, life will return to normal.

"According to the recommendation of the IDF and the defense establishment, we will soon return the communities located within four to seven kilometers in the northern envelope to their homes. The Takuma Administration, which is responsible for the national mission, will also take care of education and other issues, so that a gradual return will be possible. In the first stage for the seven communities and later for all the other communities."
