Not born a noblewoman and as part of her quest to understand how and how she should fit into the British royal family, especially after she and Harry left the UK and moved to the United States in 2020, Meghan, 42, reportedly wrote to King Charles in a letter asking why the laws that apply to her from the moment she enters the family are different from those that apply to other members of the family, alluding to double standards in dealing with her and Harry.
"Meghan Markle wants answers from His Majesty King Charles and wants to understand why the rules that apply to her and Harry are different from those that apply to the rest of the royal family," British royal affairs commentator Neil Schoen said on his YouTube channel. "She tried to set up a meeting with him, sent him a letter and asked to arrange a one-on-one meeting to explain to him the problems she had experienced since she officially became a noblewoman upon her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.

"What irritates Meghan is the fact that Fergie (referring to the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, Prince Edward's ex-wife) appears on morning shows, sells books and also considers appearances in commercials – all under the auspices and use of her royal peerage. Meghan and Harry don't understand why the rules are different when it comes to her," he added of Markle, who before her marriage to Prince Harry was an actress and starred in the hit legal drama series Suits.

Despite and perhaps because of the failure of the multimillion-dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify, Meghan is reportedly eager to return to acting and is working her comeback to the screen, a move that may draw criticism at home and abroad, especially in light of the fraught relationship between Meghan and Harry and the British royal family since their retirement from their official duties as members of the royal family, the move to the United States and the conduct of the two in the media - which included revealing interviews and a provocative biography of Harry.
