The government is trying to return residents of the envelope who live 4-7 kilometers from the Gaza border to their homes, offering them a tempting financial grant in the amount of the payment, which is supposed to be transferred to the hotels in exchange for living there for two months.

The step was taken despite the fact that the launches to the south are continuing, and there is no ability to maintain routine in this situation. In the same breath, the state extended the stay in hotels for the evacuees until the end of February, where it also provides them with education systems and an aid layer.

The "homecoming grant," as it is called in the government decision passed by telephone referendum, also includes a sting. Anyone who chooses to try to return home and receive the grant, but suddenly discovers that he is unable to maintain a routine there and wants to return to hotels, will not be able to do so with state funding. In other words, the state wants to give the residents a one-way ticket, without gradualism, and without adjustment, the ability to recalculate their route if the situation does not allow them to remain in the south.

The mayor of Sderot Alon Davidi is leading a struggle against the return of the city's residents in the current reality to their homes, but so far he has not received a response from the prime minister or the Ministry of Defense.

It should be noted that this proposal once again stonewalled the weaker populations. Those who will not be able to say no to a grant of ten thousand shekels, and will be required to return to a dysfunctional city or town: when municipal professionals are deployed in hotels throughout the country, educational institutions are closed and businesses open on condition that there is a safe room. In this way, the weaker populations will return to Sderot, for example, and will live for two months in an area that the state still treats as a war zone.

The Defense Ministry led the proposal, and yesterday Ashkelon Beach Council head Itamar Revivo sent a letter to Minister Galant, asking to clarify that what happened until October 7 will no longer exist. He spoke out against the military decisions that are made over their heads. Revivo wrote: "Erez Crossing is breached, the security components required on roads and localities have not yet been fully installed, and the security of the communities in general has been reduced since most of the residents are not present." Revivo asked that the residents of the council not return to their homes until civilian and security routines are possible.
