According to official sources, the American newspaper is collecting information about the heads of the terrorist organization and the location of the abductees in Gaza

The New York Times reported Friday night (between Friday and Saturday Israel time) that the CIA, the American intelligence agency, is collecting information about senior Hamas figures and the locations of the abductees, and is providing intelligence to Israel, according to American officials.

According to the report, the same American officials noted that a special task force was established after the murderous Hamas attack on October 7 and had already managed to reveal information about the senior leaders of the terrorist organization.

Immediately after the Black Saturday attack, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan sent a memo to intelligence agencies and the U.S. Department of Defense ordering the creation of the task force and instructing them to increase intelligence gathering on Hamas leaders, according to officials.

The newspaper also said that it was unclear to what extent the information was relevant to Israel, given that none of Hamas' senior leaders had yet been captured or killed.

The newspaper noted that the United States does not provide Israel with intelligence on low- or medium-level Hamas operatives, but only on senior figures.
