The unit's fighters were the first to eliminate terrorists using advanced drones and a combination of technological capabilities for identifying targets and directing fire. The unit was established four years ago and combines innovative technologies with special capabilities and teams of fighters working in parallel.

The unit's commander, Col. Roy Levy, was one of those killed in the fierce battles with the terrorists who infiltrated into Israeli territory yesterday from Gaza. Roi, 44, led his team bravely and courageously, striving for contact and entering the battle first in Kibbutz Reim, in order to save civilians who were besieged in their homes. About ten terrorists were killed in this encounter.
