The terrible news we were all told last night (Tuesday) about the death of 24 fighters in the Gaza Strip caught Miri Mesika during her stay in London, where she is these days for work purposes.
In an attempt to convey to her followers on Instagram the uniqueness in regards to the sensitivity shown by the citizens of Israel regarding the lives of our warriors, she shared a conversation she had with a British waitress who could not understand why Mesika was sobbing over the deaths of people she did not know at all.

"Now I was sitting alone for breakfast, I turned on the news, the waitress didn't understand, she brought me a glass of water, she didn't understand why I was whining," Misika described the situation.
"I explain to her that a lot of soldiers died. I suddenly realized that in other countries when soldiers die it seems to suck, but you don't...".

Later Mesika took part in the exchange between the two and in the waitress's attempts to understand why the difficult story touched her in such a personal way.
"She asked, 'Wait, did you know anyone personally?'. I answered 'No,'" she quoted from the exchange between the two.
"'So why are you crying? You don't even know them,'" the waitress struggled to understand her.

Just before turning off the camera, Mesika burst into tears again and concluded: "It's impossible to explain to people what it is to be Israeli. It's just such a great pain and such a great privilege."
